Baptism

You've decided to follow Jesus. Now make it public.

Baptism is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus and a celebration of new life in Him. It's a meaningful next step in your faith, and one we would love to celebrate with you.

Whether you've recently chosen to follow Jesus or have been following Him for years and haven't been baptized, we're here to help you take that step.

What to expect

We'll walk with you.

You don't have to figure everything out on your own. Our team will help you prepare and guide you through your baptism.

We baptize by immersion at all three campuses. We'll provide a baptism shirt and a place to change, and you won't need to prepare a speech.

  1. Sign up for baptism

A few minutes, and one form for each person being baptized. A parent or guardian must complete the form for anyone under 18, and our team will connect with both of you before scheduling.

  2. Connect with our team

Our team will reach out to hear about your decision to follow Jesus, answer your questions, and help you prepare.

  3. Choose your campus and Gathering time

Tucker at 8:45, 10:15 or 11:45. Lilburn and Chamblee at 10:30. You tell us what works on the form and our team will help you plan for an upcoming Baptism Celebration.

  4. Come ready to celebrate

Bring a towel and something dry for the ride home. That is the whole packing list, and there is somewhere to change when you get here.

  5. Celebrate your next step

Our team will guide you through baptism by immersion as your church family celebrates with you.

Questions worth asking

Straight answers.

What if I was baptized as a baby?

We baptize by immersion, as a symbol and witness of the new birth, which means baptism follows your own decision rather than standing in for it. If you were baptized as an infant and you are not sure where that leaves you, have that conversation with somebody here before you sign up. It is one of the most common questions we get.

Does being baptized save me?

No. Jesus does the saving. Baptism is a symbol and a witness of something that already happened in you. It is how you share your faith.

Do I have to say anything out loud?

No. The form asks you to write down when you first said yes to Jesus and why you are being baptized, and that is where you say it. You will not be asked to speak in front of the room.

What do I wear, and where do I change?

We give you the shirt you are baptized in and there is somewhere to change. Bring a towel and dry clothes for afterward.

My kid wants to be baptized.

We'd love to talk with you and your child about their faith and what baptism means. A parent or guardian must complete the form for anyone under 18. Our team will connect with both of you before scheduling.

Can my family come?

Absolutely. Invite the people you'd like to share this moment with. Your church family will be celebrating with you, too.

Why we baptize

What baptism says about you.

You are following him

Jesus was baptized and calls His followers to be baptized.

Baptism is an outward expression of the new life we receive through Jesus.

You are sharing your faith

Baptism publicly shares your decision to follow Jesus.

What we believe

We believe in the sacraments of the church established by Jesus Christ our Lord: the Lord's Supper, and baptism by immersion as a symbol and witness of the new birth.

Mountain West Statement of Beliefs

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Meet some of our Mountain West family who have taken their next step through baptism. Each person has a story, and we're grateful to celebrate what Jesus is doing in their lives.
